Save the world
okay i shall regurgitate what i revised today for my biology test tmrw! okay la, just a small part
at the synapse, there are two main structures involved. the pre-synaptic neurone and the post-synaptic one. when the action potential arrives at the pre-synaptic neurone, this triggers a depolarization in excess of -55mv. This causes the voltage gated calcium channels to open up. Then, the vesicles containing neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine are launched out, and they bond to the receptors in the membrane of the post synaptic neurone. The arrival of the neurotransmitter triggers the opening of the ligand-gated sodium channels, resulting in a influx of sodium ions into the post-synaptic neurone, and therefore triggering a depolarization, and hence an action potential.
Wooo bio is fun! but im not sure if every school learns the stuff above, my friend in Zhonghua doesn't so...idk. but its super fun. haha

Getting real about prayer
I entitled this post "Getting Real About Prayer". (It's part of a mini series btw, haha)
Prayer is one of foundational pillars of our christian walk, and to me, it's the most important next to the Word of God, cos when put together, Prayer and the Word of God combined is really the fusion of heaven and earth. :) (Refer to CHC sermon 2 weeks back).
But you see... we all know... to differing depths and revelations about prayer. :) There's so much information readily available about prayer you can't ever say you dunno why you should pray. We all know we should pray.
Yet we all have the knowledge, but we're not empowered by it.
So is it that you don't see the need to pray? That you think your prayers don't make a difference? Or is our prayer life so dead till we don't see the benefits of prayer happening even though we know by the textbook that they are supposed to have benefits?
Or maybe prayer is something that we really need to find out for ourselves by taking the first step to doing and trying it. Maybe.
Let's be real about prayer. Don't give me the textbook answers. What does prayer actually really really mean to you?
